Terms and conditions

The aim of the Good Shepherd is to reuse and reduce waste. The items are useful again with new owners, and all the proceeds from their sale go to charity. More than ISK 255 million have been given in grants to charities during the period between 1996 and 2019.

Service process

Useable and sellable items are placed in the containers for reusable items at the recycling centres. Items are generally not accepted directly to the thrift store except in consultation with the shop manager.

To maximise the usability of items, it is important that they are properly packed so that they are not damaged during transport between the recycling centres and the thrift store. Containers tend to incline considerably when they are loaded and unloaded on trucks.
