All around the capital area, one can find blue and green collection containers. All newspapers, magazines, advertisement leaflets and printing paper from homes as well as paper and carton packaging such as milk cartons, juice cartons and every sort of packaging made from paper or carton, i.e. cartons for softener, cartons covered/lined with aluminium foil, cereal boxes and shoe boxes etc. can be put into the blue container. Clean and empty recyclable plastic containers, i.e. plastic trays, plastic bags and plastic containers from food, dairy products, hygiene and cleaning products can be put into the green container. These materials can also be returned to SORPA´s recycling centers.

Please note! Be sure to sort correctly. Any unwanted or unsuitable material in a specific waste category can decrease the recycling possibilities of the waste or even prevent it altogether. Please compress the containers to remove as much air as possible.

The Recycling
The newspapers/magazines are compressed in SORPA´s Receiving Plant at Gufunes before it's exported to Sweden. There it's recycled into various kinds of paper towels (e.g. Edet and Tork).
Paper- and carton packaging is compressed in SORPA's Receiving Plant at Gufunes before it's exported to Sweden. There it's recycled into carton paper that is used to make new packaging.

The plastic is baled at SORPA´s Receiving Plant and sent to Il Recycling in Sweden for recycling. Il Recycling sends it on to Swerec that sort the plastics for recycling. The plastic is recycled into car parts, sturdy barrels and other things. It is also used as energy generation.
