Information and Education
Disposal of solid waste is an important service. The staff at SORPA take pleasure in serving their communities in a modern and effective way.
Elaborate informational and educational activities are an integral part of SORPA’s service. SORPA publishes informative reading material, brochures and colouring books. Furthermore, SORPA invites preschools and primary schools to send groups of pupils on field trips to visit and study all of its levels and branches. Each year, numerous other groups from secondary schools, business firms, various institutions and organizations pay SORPA a visit as well.
SORPA´s educational role
One of the favorite roles of SORPA is to educate the young ones and for years SORPA has invited students from the age of five to come for a visit and learn all about the company, waste sorting and the environment. During the winter months visits from the elementary schools and kindergarden are the most visual part in SORPA´s educational programme.

Your waste can become a new product
The aim of SORPA´s educational programme is to teach the students the value of waste sorting and recycling. They get to know what happens to the waste after it arrives to SORPA for recycling and get a feeling for what happens to the waste that they put in the waste bin at home. An emphasis is put on the environmental gain that comes with sorting waste and returning it to recycling stations. By doing that one can prolong the life of things that otherwise would have ended up at SORPA´s landfill side. Things such as clothes and funriture can be reused, newsprint can become tissue paper by recycling and old candles can become new candles, to name only few.
The students seem to enjoy the visit and interact well with our programme.
